When the very idea of planning a large traditional wedding just seems too stressful, eloping while on a romantic holiday seemed like the perfect choice for Jodie & Alex.
“We loved that eloping would let us focus on what was important, and on what we wanted out of the day, without getting caught up in stuff that didn’t really matter to us. We didn’t really think too much about a theme or vibe. We didn’t need to. We just dressed how we wanted, knowing that the New Zealand landscape would do all the work for us! It was easy and relaxed – we felt so lucky in the lead-up, knowing that we just got to bask in our excitement for the day without getting too stressed or anxious about all the details.”

It’s something that I believe in more and more the longer I photograph weddings & elopements. Your wedding day is all about you! So make it all about you! What you like, who you want to be there, and where in the world you want to be. Dale & Milly (a wonderful photographer herself) did exactly that. They took only their closest loved ones with them on a holiday to Queenstown and eloped by Lake Wakatipu. Then we caught a chopper up to Cecil Peak for some alone time and to soak in the views of gorgeous New Zealand. Everyone wore black and kept their phones in their pockets and were totally present in the best possible way! I still can’t get over how awesome work” days can be!
